FIU USAID WA-WASH Program receives a prestigious award from the President of Burkina Faso (December 2017)

For its six years of contribution to improving the livelihood of the people of Burkina Faso, the FIU USAID WA-WASH Project manager by Dr. Boukerrou has been recognized as a Knight of the Rural Development Merit Order by The Grand Chancery Order of the Office of the President of Burkina Faso.  This is a significant recognition of the efforts of the Ouagadougou regional program team lead by Dr. Boukerrou to address water, sanitation, hygiene, food security, climate change as well as gender equity in three major West African countries (Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Niger). The last two years of the program focused on institutional and human capacity building and the sustainability of the program investments of the previous four years.
